The expected attendance rate for SitC has officially hit its largest EVER, passing over 2,000 people confirmed to attend this year on the event’s Facebook page!!

That’s a LOT of people! We’re pretty sure not all of you will be there the whole time, but we can still guarantee this is going to be the biggest SitC, if not the biggest UK gathering, to date!

To celebrate, we’re putting the red and blue t-shirts for this year’s event, designed by Hatti Rex, on sale for £8! This sale will only be running for the next 24 hours, so get in fast!

Once the sale is over, tees will go back to £10. But you can still take advantage of the ROCKEM SOCKEM Bundle - one red tee and one blue - for £17. Once again, all sales go towards funding the gathering :D

Please note: all orders will not be shipped until June.

NEW SHIRT!
Our SitC tee for this year is now available for pre-order in shiny red for £10!
You can also take advantage of our ROCKEM SOCKEM bundle - Red vs. Blue, two t-shirts for £17!
All these are available at the SitC store, as well as the blue shirt on its own. All sales go towards the budget for the gathering :D
Please note: all orders will not be shipped until June.

Update!

Hey, SitC peeps of Tumblr!

We’ve given our blog/FAQ a quick update for this year. We’re still toiling away, trying to get our venues sorted, but as soon as we have something solid then we’ll let you know.

Meanwhile, we’ve added a Facebook page to our arsenal, as well as the event and group pages. Liking the page will make it easier for us to give you updates about the gathering as they come along, so feel free to do so!

Also, our t-shirts for this year are on sale! This year’s logo was designed by Hatti Rex, and it’s available in blue, and limited edition black. Those are almost gone though, so get yours while they last at our SitC store!

Finally, on a more serious note: in light of the recent “meet-up” trend - where gatherings are used more to meet popular YouTubers instead of to, well, gather - a few people are asking us if we have a list, or any idea of any “famous YouTubers” who might be coming.
Summer in the City has been and always will be about gathering together, meeting like-minded people, and making new friends in the community. It’s not designed as a fan meet-up. While there will be quite a few YouTubers with a lot of subscribers around, who will be happy to meet you, we strongly recommend that you avoid making it the only reason for coming. You won’t have half as much fun as you could have if you’re just standing around waiting to talk to one or two people!

Anyway, that’s all for now. We’ll be keeping you posted on any more updates as they come along. Looking forward to seeing you in August! <3

RE: London Riots

A lot of people have been asking if SitC is still going ahead, thanks to the selfish idiots currently going crazy on the city’s outskirts.

At the moment, we have no plans to reschedule or relocate or cancel; everything that is planned for SitC will be happening within the centre of London, and the likelihood of the riots continuing over this week such that they will spread much deeper into the city or into the parks is low.

As for the possibility of police trying to disperse all large numbers of young people, it shouldn’t be a problem for us as the council knows we’re coming and we’ll have a licence that permits us to be together. We know SitC’s a big gathering guys, don’t think we don’t plan for these things :P

So we’ve got our end figured out, now all we need is you. A few people are obviously uneasy about travelling to London and don’t want to risk it, and obviously some parents and guardians might be a bit less enthusiastic about setting their kids free in the city. Hopefully we’ve put your mind at ease a bit, but it’s still entirely up to you about your stance on coming to the gathering. We would recommend you co-operate with your folks, however, if they’re not keen on letting you go; it’ll be a lot worse for you if you sneak off to London without telling them :P

So don’t cancel your travel or accommodation just yet! WE’RE GOING AHEAD. See you there. :)

Hey, is there anybody really officially documenting SITC?
I know from the previous ones that there were little collages of videos and massive amount of contributed footage by other people!
But I was thinking, since I'll have a new cam when SITC starts, I would love to tape some grand moments ! And make a nice 5-10min docu with lots of footage.
Of course everyone can contibute! =)
What d'you think? =)

Go for it!

Our friend Clark was responsible for the ‘official’ documentation of last year, but I think he mentioned taking a back seat this time. But regardless, the more coverage, the better!

Are the gigs ticketed? And if so how many get given out?
Anonymous

No.

However both places have max. capacities; 400 on the Friday and 600 on the Saturday. First come, first served.

For the first day in Hyde Park, when is that supposed to end? Or does everyone just go there from 1 and to the Student Union together at 7:30 o.o
Anonymous

People are allowed to come and go as they please; it’d be easier for everyone to head over at the same time, though some folks might want to leave early to ensure they get in and stuff. But generally people tend to stick together to avoid getting lost :)

Is there still gonna be an official phone number for those of us who are navigationally challenged? xD

Yep! We’ll post it on the Twitter nearer the weekend.

What's the nearest train station to Regents park? :)

Train station or Tube station?

Nearest train station: King’s Cross, about 2 miles away.

Nearest Tube station: Regent’s Park, across the road.

Reposting this because the video has been re-uploaded to our NEW CHANNEL: http://youtube.com/sitc
